The Harrahs Total Rewards Program is considered one of the best designed programs because of its impressive player focus: Total Rewards points can be used at any Harrahs hotel for food, room fees, shows, limo rides, and more. Earn Total Rewards points in Las Vegas and spend them in Atlantic City.
The downside of the Total Rewards program is that it is constantly changing, and hard to understand. I want to help you understand it, so you can maximize your comp potential.
The Total Rewards Program is broken down into 4 tiers:
Signing up for Total Rewards is free — just find the big gold Total Rewards booth at any hotel, usually on the casino floor. They’ll ask for a form of ID or two, and you’ll get your Total Rewards card instantly. They start all players with their Total Rewards gold card.
Getting to the next tier requires gaming, which accumulates Tier Credits. The Tier Credit system is simple to understand if you’re a slot person or a VP person: for every $5 you spin through slots, you receive 1 Tier Credit. For every $10 you spin through VP, you receive 1 Tier Credit. In addition to Tier Credit, you also receive Rewards Credits, which are completely different than Tier Credits. Rewards Credits are not as easy to explain: each form of gaming has a different “Reward” and no one yet has figured out how to know exactly how many you get.
Tier Credits are registered immediately as you’re gaming. Reward Credits can take a few hours, or even days, depending on the hotel and the game you’re playing.
